Williaim August Bowles Proclamation, 1799-10-31
A handwritten document by William A. Bowles, this is a proclamation dated October 31, 1799, expelling all Spaniards and Americans from the independent "State of Muskogee" issued from Wakina, Florida.

Commander of the Union Indian Brigade. Correspondence and other documents relating to the affairs of the Cherokee Nation which Phillips represented in its claims against the Federal Government.
William Burnett Papers, 1726-1728
There are eleven letters to and from Governor William Burnet (one in French) concerning Indian matters and trade with the Indians. A copy of records kept at a conference between Governor Burnet and Indians from the six tribes, September 7, 1726, concerning surrender of Indian lands is included among these papers.

In this collection is a hard-bound notebook containing comments about his trip with the Northern Boundary Survey party. Other notes, letters, and reminiscences of his trips are in the collection.
William Edwin Rudge lithographs, approximately 1930
Color lithographic portraits, one each of Herman Melville, Stephen Crane, and Edgar Allan Poe; the Poe portrait was executed and signed in pencil by Ferdinand Huszti Horvath. All were printed by William Edwin Rudge. Each print measures 55.5 x 47.7 cm.
It is uncertain as to whether these were printed by Grandfather William Edwin Rudge or by his son, also named William Edwin Rudge.

Consists of a signed studio portrait of Faulkner and photo-reproduction of a group photo of the Mississippi Gamma-Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity featuring Faulkner; miscellaneous correspondence; exhibition and seminar programs about Faulkner; publication announcements; and press cuttings about Faulkner's life and work.

William G. Adams WWI ephemera
Ephemera of William G. Adams, 472nd Aero Squadron. Contents include: a pocket memorandum book with handwritten entries made primarily in England where Adams performed maintenance on aeroplanes plus newspaper clippings pasted in; printed program for the celebration of the squadron's one-year anniversary of service, 3 September 1918; and an orange and black felt pennant ("Aero Squadron: San Antonio, Tex") representing the squadron.
William H. Strong Journal, 1878
Subject matter: A guest of P. H. Sheridan, William E. Strong kept an interesting account of a hunting trip to Indian Territory in 1878. Gen. A. W. Whipple, a Colonel Moore, and Ben Clark, guide, were also in the hunting party. Strong gives a good description of Clark and there is a photograph of him. There are several excellent pen and ink sketches of wild turkeys.
William Hammond Smith WWI correspondence
A transcription of the war-time letters of Major William Hammond Smith, Royal Field Artillery Brigade, from May 1915 to October 1916; written to his mother. Smith was killed in action on April 12, 1917 at Athies, near Roeux, during the Battle of Arras.

Archive of Private William Hurford Hutchins of the Canterbury Infantry Battlion, 2nd New Zealand Regiment. Consists of a 181 page handwritten diary with extensive, descriptive entries. Includes photocopied list of wounded, service medallion, and a small photo album containing 59 photographs documenting Hutchins's experiences while in service in Egypt, with a few photos documenting his departure from New Zealand.
