William Hammond Smith WWI correspondence
A transcription of the war-time letters of Major William Hammond Smith, Royal Field Artillery Brigade, from May 1915 to October 1916; written to his mother. Smith was killed in action on April 12, 1917 at Athies, near Roeux, during the Battle of Arras.
William Hurford Hutchins WWI archive
Archive of Private William Hurford Hutchins of the Canterbury Infantry Battlion, 2nd New Zealand Regiment. Consists of a 181 page handwritten diary with extensive, descriptive entries. Includes photocopied list of wounded, service medallion, and a small photo album containing 59 photographs documenting Hutchins's experiences while in service in Egypt, with a few photos documenting his departure from New Zealand.

William Robins war machine invention documents, 1912-1920
William Robins, Russian engineer mechanic's proposal for and patent application for a war machine that, among other attributes, is impervious to enemy attack and, although stationary, can move in any direction at great speed by the person within it. Although figures are noted in the documentation, they are not included in this collection of papers. Papers include Robins's letters to H.M. Secretary of War and H.M. Patent Office and their replies.
William Settle papers, 1900-1985
Research materials related to the history of Tulsa compiled for the purpose of writing a book on the topic sponsored by the Army Corps of Engineers in Tulsa. Items included are newspaper clippings, theses, pamphlets, newsletters, taped interviews and transcripts, and photographs. Some material related to Dr. Settle's dissertation on Jesse James and on dime novels. Dr. Settle was a faculty member of the history department at The University of Tulsa.
