The collection includes: 2 photo-reproductions of photographs of W.Fay M. Ham in uniform; photocopy of travel document following his release as POW; photocopy of a photo of ambulance; photocopy of Ham's pencilled journal titled, "Life of a German Prisoner of War", a recollection written in 1928.

During his time as a lieutenant in the 9th Field Artillery during World War I his wife wrote to him nearly every day. Archive of Private William Hurford Hutchins of the Canterbury Infantry Battlion, 2nd New Zealand Regiment. Consists of a 181 page handwritten diary with extensive, descriptive entries. Includes photocopied list of wounded, service medallion, and a small photo album containing 59 photographs documenting Hutchins's experiences while in service in Egypt, with a few photos documenting his departure from New Zealand.
